ASP/D Outcome One Questions

2 messages

Some points regarding the MCQ's in the ASP:
Version A:
Q2 audio formats on WWW – both WAV and MP3 are widely used. Wording of question infers a single response. Q7 Compression applied to WAV files – This is misleading. Compression, as an effect, is "applied" to audio files in order to boost lower level signals and clip higher level signals by use of controllable threshholds and levels. (Almost every piece of audio we listen to has had compression applied to it – it adds "punch" to music.) Perhaps, if the question was reworded indicating that "when saving a WAV file as a compressed WAV ..." ? Q14 Response A – typographical error – "Lossless compression has higher compression ratio than Lossless compression" should it read "... than Lossy compression" ?

Any comments welcomed. Thanks

I assume Les, this query is from the Digital Media Elements unit at Int 2 level.  It's not clear from your posting.
